Where Do You Shop Now That Woodhaven Kroger Closed?

The Woodhaven Kroger closed on June 22.

Whether you needed groceries, AA batteries or a last-minute gift one of the easiest place near Trenton to get in and get out was the Woodhaven Kroger.

The Kroger on West Road closed on June 22 forcing many Trenton residents to find a new place to shop for everyday items. The store was closed because it was dated, according to Dale Hollandsworth, a consumer communications representative for Kroger,

Hollandsworth said the store was, "not the type of store we want our customers shopping in."

Many Trenton and Grosse Ile residents were unhappy with the decision to close the store. Some area residents preferred the small location compared to a larger megastore. Others preferred the convenience of a grocery store near home.

There is not a similar grocery store in Trenton. The closet thing Trenton residents have to a grocery store is Trentwood Farms, which is actually in Woodhaven.

Grosse Ile residents have a Kroger location on the island, but it still might not be the most conveniently located grocery store for some.

Hollandsworth said shoppers should use the nearby Kroger in Brownstown.
