Trenton residents and public employees will be presented with 15 different awards including the Patch Community Service Person of the Year Award on Jan. 19 at the Trenton Village Theatre.
Ticket sales for the annual Trenton City Awards Ceremony have slumped this year, according to Scott Barr of the Trenton Civic Commission. "Normally, by now, we have over 100 tickets sold," Barr said. Barr said he has no idea why the civic commission has sold well under the typical amount of tickets and hopes sales will increase "the closer we get to the event." The City Awards are set for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Trenton Village Theatre. Trenton officials and business owners will present several awards to extraordinary public employees and residents nominated by fellow residents. The Downriver Youth Performing Art Center is holding a blood drive at the Trenton Village Theatre.
Each summer the Downriver Youth Performing Arts Center (DYPAC) offers a chance for a Trenton High School student to organize and execute a blood drive for a chance at a college scholarship. This year Trenton High School student Michael Cunningham has scheduled his blood drive for Monday, June 18th from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Trenton Village Theatre.
