The Trojans won their fourth News-Herald Championship in five years on Jan. 19 in Allen Park, according to The News-Herald.
Gold medals shined under mercury lights for the Trenton High School boys swimming team Saturday, after the Trojans took home top honors at The News-Herald Swimming and Diving Championships in Allen Park. The Trojans tallied ten top-two finishes, including three gold medals, to earn a meet-high 302 points, according to The News-Herald. This is the fouth time in five years the Trojans brought home the top spot in the annual championship. Trenton girls swim team takes winning streak to next logical destination: The state championships.
The Trenton High School girls swim team have been on a winning streak, leaving the competition gasping for air after a perfect season. Next up for the Trojanettes: The state championships, taking place Nov. 18-19 at Oakland University. At the Downriver League meet, Trenton stayed on top, finishing first, a victory made all the sweeter in that the team had not won leagues in five years. Mandy Kell won in diving and broke a record. Lauren Thackerway and Sam Kinney placed second and third, respectively. The swimmers and divers headed to the OU state meet are: Kara Stadelman, Megan Dossey, Rachel Sieloff, Jaimee Perugi, Megan Pek, Emi Mitsusada-Boylan, Marissa Wiltse, Mandy Kell, Lauren Thackeray, Sam Kinney and Jessa Passerman.

The Trenton High School girls swim team has set an unprecedented level of achievement this season with a Downriver League title and a broken record. Mandy Kell not only won the diving competition, but she also broke a record. Lauren Thackeray and Sam Kinney took second and third in the competition. The swim team went undefeated this season including a win to clinch the Downriver League title. The team now moves on to states held at Oakland University. The swimmers and divers going Oakland University are Kara Stadelman, Megan Dossey, Rachel Sieloff, Jaimee Perugi, Megan Pek, Emi Mitsusada-Boylan, Marissa WIltse, Mandy Kell, Lauren Thackeray, Sam Kinney and Jessa Passerman.
