Trenton Sports Hall of Fame Inductees for 2012

Four Trenton residents were inducted into t Trenton Sports Hall of Fame at the 2012 Trenton Trenton City Awards on Jan.19.

The four most recent inductees into the Trenton Sports Hall of Fame accepted awards at the Trenton City Awards on Jan. 19, 2012 at the Trenton Village Theatre. These are the inductees followed by short biographies provided by the Trenton Civic Commission: Rick was appointed to the Recreation Commission in 1977 during this time he has proved to be a positive asset to the community, providing sound leadership and long-standing experience to help bring forth positive changes in the quality of life for our residents. He has also volunteered his time at numerous sporting events over the years along with serving as a certified football and volleyball official. Trenton City Awards See Low Ticket Sales for the First Time

Trenton residents and public employees will be presented with 15 different awards including the Patch Community Service Person of the Year Award on Jan. 19 at the Trenton Village Theatre.

Ticket sales for the annual Trenton City Awards Ceremony have slumped this year, according to Scott Barr of the Trenton Civic Commission. "Normally, by now, we have over 100 tickets sold," Barr said. Barr said he has no idea why the civic commission has sold well under the typical amount of tickets and hopes sales will increase "the closer we get to the event." The City Awards are set for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Trenton Village Theatre. Trenton officials and business owners will present several awards to extraordinary public employees and residents nominated by fellow residents. Nominate a Patch Community Service Person of the Year

Do you have a family member, friend or neighbor that deserves to be recognized for being an outstanding, super-fantastic member of the Trenton community. Nominate him or her for the Patch Community Service Person of the Year Award.

Community service has several definitions. It can be anything from helping a neighbor put up his Christmas lights to organizing a blood drive. Trenton-Grosse Ile Patch wants to recognize one Trenton resident for his or her community service with the Patch Community Service Person of the Year Award and a $100 gift card to a local business in Trenton. Trenton City Awards Ceremony Changing Venue in 2013

Each year the Trenton Civic Commission recognizes outstanding residents for their contribution to the community.

Attention paparazzi! Trenton's most outstanding residents will be walking the red carpet at the Trenton Village Theatre this year for the annual Trenton City Awards ceremony put on by the Trenton Civic Commission. The ceremony recognizes residents who've been nominated by friends and family in a number of categories including Trentonite of the Year and Outstanding Trenton Youth. The two-hour ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Jan. 19, 2013, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Guests can graze on Hors d'oeuvre while enjoying beer and wine. Ticket prices have not been set.
