Elizabeth Park Venue to Open Despite More Delays

The Shelter Building at Elizabeth Park in Trenton is expected to open this summer.

Despite setbacks ranging from weather delays to changing contractors the Shelter Building at Elizabeth Park is slated to open this summer. The building should be fully operational and ready for guests in about 60 days according to Lawrence Hemingway, deputy director of Wayne County Parks. Wayne county officials recently hired a new contractor to complete the building, which is currently more than halfway complete. Hemingway said contractors are set to begin working this month and complete the project by middle July. The Shelter Building will be available for rent for a number of different purposes including wedding receptions and birthday parties--after it opens.
