Trenton Salon Owner Celebrates New Expansion

With oversized scissors in hand, Trenton Mayor Kyle Stack attended a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday for a local salon that recently expanded. Kimberly Mott, owner of Colors By Kim, stood along side Stack as together they cut a long blue ribbon signifying a grand re-opening of the local hair salon and day spa. Mott has been working in the salon business for several years and began leasing her current location on West Road in 2006. Last year, Mott started remodeling the space next door in anticipation of an expansion. "The last couple years our salon has grown tremendously and this past year we grew over 12 percent," Mott said. "So, we had the opportunity to expand the salon again." Mott said her business has been growing since she opened …

Products and Teamwork Make Alexander Chase Salon Gel

Trenton Patch caught up with Kim Vadasy, owner of Alexander Chase Salon, to ask five questions about her business.

There are over 20 salons in Trenton, but only one was named after the owner's 18-year-old son. Alexander Chase was about 10 years old when his mother, Kim Vadasy, decided to open Alexander Chase Salon. The full-service salon has nine highly-educated stylists, and clients can get cuts, color, waxing, facials, manicures and pedicures according to Vadasy. "We work as a team here," Vadasy said. "Teamwork is big in my salon." Alexander Chase Salon was recently voted the best salon in the city by Trenton Patch readers. Trenton Native Offers Beauty and Relaxation for Women and Men

Elevate salon and spa promotes ‘beautification’ with a ‘friendly, laid-back atmosphere.’

Roughly three years ago, mother Betty Jo and daughter Elizabeth Holbrook transformed a building housed by an insurance company into Elevate, a salon and spa located in downtown Trenton. Today, Elevate, along with its 18 staff members, seeks to promote “beautification and overall wellness.” “A lot of people think of beauty in a vain sense, (but) I think it’s very therapeutic,” said Elizabeth, a graduate of Trenton High School. “There’s a very personal touch; we all have a very close relationship with our clients.” The Trenton natives and business owners offer countless services, including haircuts, hair coloring, waxing, manicures and pedicures, full-body massages and facials.
