Patch Users Say Michelangelo's has Best Pasta in Wayne County

Wyandotte restaurant wins voting in the Food Fight poll.

The people have spoken: Michelangelo’s Italian Bistro has the best pasta in Wayne County. Michelangelo’s Italian Bistro, located at 152 Elm St. in Wyandotte, received 72 percent of the vote in the Food Fight poll. Antonio’s Cucina Italia was second with 21 percent, Gregorio's was third with 4 percent, and Deliziosa was fourth with 2 percent. Voting took place from Wednesday morning until Friday at 5 p.m. Congratulations, Michelangelo’s Italian Bistro, and thank you to all who participated in the Food Fight by voting in the poll and leaving comments on the site. I really do feel they are both great places to dine...There are so many Italian resturants to try..The Andiamos down by the river front at the Ren Cen is another great place to eat.. Try them all and decide which dish is your favorite...   more ›

Round House BBQ: New Kid on the BBQ Block

Round House BBQ has been open for roughly 6 months. In that time, owner Chris Hancock and his crew have been serving up tasty smoked meats and made from scratch side dishes.

Open since July in a so called "cursed building," Round House BBQ is trying to prove people wrong.  Owner Chris Hancock, a former construction worker, has no previous restaurant experience.   Even as a novice, Hancock knows how to make some tasty barbeque.   Round House's location at 2760 West Jefferson Avenue has been three different restaurants in the last few years.  First a diner then a Mexican restaurant and now Round House, the 50s style diner exterior makes Round House the most unique looking BBQ restaurant in the area.   Working in the confines of a truly small kitchen and back room leaves the cooks at a disadvantage at busy times, but they are getting used to the rushes.  On Friday and Saturday nights they may seat close to 200 …

Cafe West: Taste of Tropics in Trenton

Cafe West is a family owned restaurant specializing in seafood. Chef Blake Harte and his wife Sandy have created a warm, inviting atmosphere with quality made from scratch cooking at affordable prices.

Finding a decent seafood restaurant with affordable prices is not easy—and I'm not talking about places like Red Lobster or Long John Silver's. In Trenton, chef Blake Harte is trying his best to make seafood affordable at Cafe West. An intimate space that seats about 50 people, Cafe West's menu focuses on fresh seafood with an Asian flare. Chef Blake used to live in Florida. When you live that close to water, it's hard not to love in with fish. Being that Florida is near saltwater, the fish served at Cafe West are predominantly saltwater fish.   Being so close to the freshwater in Michigan, Cafe West is a destination for boaters in the summertime.
