Not Your Usual Concert: Local Brass Band Prepares for Annual Festival
The Motor City Brass Band will host their annual Motor City Festival of Bands March 10 in Dearborn.
If you’re looking for a typical classical concert, stay away from the Motor City Brass Band. The band of more than 30 musicians doesn’t perform concerts, explains Musical Director and Conductor Craig Strain. They put on shows. The next will be their biggest of the season—literally. The Festival of Bands, happening Sunday, March 10, at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, will bring together more than 200 musicians from the MCBB, Birmingham Concert Band, Farmington Community Band, Oakland University Brass, and West Michigan Concert Winds. Congratulations to Robofsemi for winning Trenton Patch's first "Patch the Town" contest. He will receive a $100 gift card to use at Trenton businesses of his choice. In his entry, Robofsemi said he'd spend the money by taking his wife out on a romantic date. "I’d take my beautiful wife out for a relaxing night on the town ala Trenton. First, we’d head over to the Riverside Treasure Shoppe for a browse and to pick up a couple of kites for later use. Then we’d head over to either Café West or Round House BBQ depending on our tastes at that time for what I know would be an awesome dinner. Here at Patch, we know that our local businesses are at the core of a vibrant community. We also know that our readers are good people who deserve a night out. Trenton Patch announces the first winner in our 'Patch the Town' contest.
Congratulations to Sharron Sternbergh for winning Trenton Patch's first "Patch the Town" contest. She will receive a $100 gift card to use at Trenton businesses of her choice. In her entry, Sternbergh said she'd spend the money at Cafe West and the Trenton Ice Cream Shoppe. "I would take this dear man of mine out to dinner at Cafe West, then on to Trenton Ice Cream Shoppe for his favorite ice cream sundae and then for a nice stroll through Elizabeth Park."
