'The Walking Dead' Fans Flock to New Comic Book Store in Trenton

One of the most popular comics available at Comic City in Trenton is also the basis for a popular television show of the same name on AMC.

Stephanie Smethers said the most popular comic book at Comic City in Trenton is the graphic novel "The Walking Dead," by Robert Kirkman, which was the basis for the hit television show of the same name. "'The Walking Dead' is an absolute staple at all of our locations," Smethers said. Smethers and her parents, Bob and Jill Smethers, opened their fourth Comic City location at 3410 West Road in late February. Those who shy away from the zombie genre of comics can find plenty of other comics to read including Superman and Batman. New Trenton Business Has Gone to the Dogs

A new business in Downtown Trenton gives customers a unique chance to bond with man's best friend.

Colleen Medere, 48, of Woodhaven began grooming her dogs herself as a way to save money and it, eventually, turned into a hobby. After spending years grooming her two dogs, a Great Dane mix and a Boxer mix, Medere decided to turn her hobby into Trenton's first self-wash and full-service pet grooming salon when she purchased a vacant 100-year-old house in Downtown Trenton and opened Bubble Puppy on Feb. 13. "I decided to go all in," Medere said. Bubble Puppy, 2505 W. Jefferson Ave., allows pet owners to wash their dogs using a large grooming station. The grooming station has the capability to spray water, set to just the right temperature, shampoo and conditioner. There's also a high-powered blower and towels to finish the job. Medere said …

Jason, I literally lol'd at that comment. But sadly, you make a good point. Trenton city government needs to start assuming more responsibility leasing businesses. Why can't they keep anything in these places for long? Because they're garbage temporary niche businesses that pay rent (and taxes) but don't bring any desirability to the area. HELOOOO city hall. How about requiring a 1/5/10 year …   more ›
