DIA To Host 'Mustache Day' in Celebration of Salvador Dalí

Visitors with mustaches receive free general admission to the Detroit Institute of Arts Aug. 3-5.

The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) is offering free museum admission to any visitor who wears a mustache—real or fake—from Friday, Aug. 3 to Sunday, Aug. 5 during regular museum hours. The promotion celebrates the eccentric appearance of Salvador Dalí, whose painting Soft Construction with Boiled Beans is currently on view in the DIA’s exhibition Five Spanish Masterpieces. Fine Art Displayed Near Major Trenton Landmarks

Six original reproductions of fine art dating as far back as the 16th century can be seen in some of the most unlikely places throughout Trenton.

Residents can show their driver's license for free admission to the museum. Six pieces of fine art will be on display at city hall, the police …

Trenton residents can enjoy reproductions of fine art scattered around the downtown area both inside and outside thanks to the Detroit Institute of Arts' Inside/Out program.

What's the one thing Rotary Park is missing? Give up? The answer is fine art. Trenton was selected to participate in the Detroit Institute of Art's Inside/Out program for 2012. Six original reproductions of fine art dating as far back as the 16th century will be installed in some of the most unlikely places throughout Trenton's downtown area. Some of the pieces hang on the sides of buildings, while others are freestanding throughout the downtown area. The pieces are clustered within walking or biking distance from each other to encourage people to get out and view them all. The masterpieces will be installed on or before July 3 and will remain until Sept. 30 in several different locations: Residents of Trenton can visit the actual works of…
