Trenton and Grosse Ile do not meet specific criteria to land a popular Michigan-based gourmet grocery chain.
Check one more gourmet grocery chain off the short list of possibilities for Trenton and Grosse Ile. Justin Hiller, vice president of Hiller's Market, said neither Trenton nor Grosse Ile meet specific criteria used to decide if a location is right for the Michigan-based gourmet grocery chain. "Our customer base should be densely populated, average income is typically in the 80-125K per year, age is typically 44+, but we are trying to change that currently to target millennial's (ages 25-32)," Hiller said in an email to Patch. I find it interesting that WF has a store opening in Detroit. Not sure of the store address, but the fact that there are MULTIPLE cities that would shop at a WF location in the downriver area makes no sense to not build one here.
