Grosse Ile Faces Detroit Country Day Saturday in State Playoffs

The Grosse Ile Red Devils are set for their Division 4 state playoff game against the Detroit Country Day Yellowjackets starting at 2 p.m. Nov. 10 at Detroit Country Day High School.

The state playoffs are underway and the Grosse Ile Red Devils are preparing to face the Detroit Country Day Yellowjackets at 2 p.m. Nov. 10 at Detroit Country Day High School, 22305 W 13 Mile Road in Beverly Hills. The Devils have lost just one game all season, while the Yellowjackets have lost two games. Neither team has lost in the postseason.

Grosse Ile Football Playoffs (PHOTOS)

The Grosse Ile Red Devils took on the Harper Woods Chandler Park Academy Eagles in round one of the Michigan High School Athletic Association playoffs.

The Grosse Ile Red Devils will move on to the next round of the playoffs after toppling the Harper Woods Chandler Park Academy Eagles 14-12 Friday night.

Tough Schedule, Player Changes Can't Stop Grosse Ile Varsity Football

With a 10-3 final record in 2011 and an appearance in the state semifinals, Coach John Bodner is working to keep his team focused through a difficult regular season schedule this fall.

With the bright lights shining down on the 50-yard line and the roar of the crowd in the stands, the football season is nearly halfway through—but you already knew that if you're a fan of the Grosse Ile Red Devils. This 30-man squad is the heart and soul of the Grosse Ile High School community during the fall months, and with three powerful wins already under its belt, the team does not disappoint its dedicated fans. "We are not a big team in size or numbers but our kids play with great heart," said Head Coach John Bodner. Bodner, an English teacher at the school, has been coaching the Red Devils since 2006 and along with his five assistant coaches, works day in and day out formulating drills and plays to keep his team in line.
