Five Questions With a Trenton Business Owner: The Lighthouse

This week we spoke to Suzanne Wallace, owner of the lighting supply store The Lighthouse.

Patch freelancer Frank Wladyslawski has been buzzing around Trenton speaking to local business owners and asking them the same basic five questions. This week Frank caught up with Suzanne Wallace, a Trenton native who owns The Lighthouse. The shop, which is located near the intersection of Fort and West, is a supplier of residential and commercial lighting and has a huge showroom full of displays. Customers will find ceiling lights, lamps, outdoor lighting, ceiling fans and a selection of home accents, such as furniture, clocks and mirrors. Five Questions With a Trenton Business Owner: Slick Disc Music

This week we spoke to Rob Slykerman, owner of Slick Disc Music.

Patch freelancer Frank Wladyslawski has been buzzing around Trenton speaking to local business owners and asking them the same basic five questions. This week Frank caught up with Rob Slykerman, owner of the store Slick Disc Music. The store, which has been in business more than two decades, carries CDs, DVDs, used vinyl, clothing, incense items and guitar accessories. Originally the shop was located west of Fort Street, on West Road. However, it  now sits just east of Fort Street, still on West Road. When Slykerman is not running the store, he plays in a local band known as Fusion. Slick Disc Music is located at 1625 West Road, about one block east of the intersection of Fort and West. This week we spoke to Kimberly Hillen, owner of the upscale clothing resale shop Diva on a Dime.

This week we spoke to Frank Chakrabarty, owner of Trenton Lighthouse, which specializes in fishing, hunting and boating equipment.

Trenton Patch has been buzzing around Trenton recently speaking to local business owners and asking them the same basic five questions. With Father’s Day almost upon us, we decided to help our readers find a couple of places to go for last-minute gifts. This week Patch freelancer Frank Wladyslawski caught up with Trenton Lighthouse owner Frank Chakrabarty. Chakrabarty grew up in Dearborn and graduated from Fordson High School. Later he moved to Canton, where he lived for 37 years and served as a member of the city’s fire department, until retirement. This week Nate caught up with Marc Carafelli, D.C. at Carafelli Chiropractic, LLC. Carafelli grew up in Riverview, went to Gabriel Richard High School and attended Life University near Atlanta, GA, where he became a certified chiropractor. He has a unique technique for adjusting patients and he is just one of a few other people in the state who do nutritional response testing. Trenton High School has eleven "Top Ten" students, due to a few ties in rank, and Trenton Patch editor Nate Stemen caught up with each of them to ask them five questions. Products and Teamwork Make Alexander Chase Salon Gel

Trenton Patch caught up with Kim Vadasy, owner of Alexander Chase Salon, to ask five questions about her business.

There are over 20 salons in Trenton, but only one was named after the owner's 18-year-old son. Alexander Chase was about 10 years old when his mother, Kim Vadasy, decided to open Alexander Chase Salon. The full-service salon has nine highly-educated stylists, and clients can get cuts, color, waxing, facials, manicures and pedicures according to Vadasy. "We work as a team here," Vadasy said. "Teamwork is big in my salon." Alexander Chase Salon was recently voted the best salon in the city by Trenton Patch readers.
