Driver Involved in Accident on Grosse Ile Free Bridge in Critical Condition

A two-car accident closed the Grosse Ile free bridge and injured both drivers Tuesday after one of the cars came to a rest on a railing.

One of the drivers involved in a two-car accident on the Grosse Ile free bridge was in critical condition Thursday, according to Sgt. Bradley Petraska of the Trenton Police Department. A 47-year-old Trenton man was sedated to unconsciousness at Oakwood Southshore Medical Center following accident, which caused his vehicle to come to a rest on a bridge railing at about 11:50 a.m. Tuesday. The man suffered several injuries during the crash including a head injury, which is making it difficult for officers to conclude an accident investigation. Petraska said a preexisting medical condition might have been the cause of the accident, but cannot be confirmed due to the injury sustained during impact. Drunken Driver Crashes Into Vehicles Stopped at Train Tracks in Trenton

The following information was supplied by the Trenton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Trenton police arrested a 36-year-old man after he allegedly crashed into a car stopped at railroad tracks, while a train blocked the road at about 9:40 p.m. Feb. 22 in the area of Van Horn and Division. Police said the driver struck one car at a very high rate of speed, causing the car to be pushed off the road. The man's car continued on to strike another vehicle and pushed it into a third. There was an 800 foot long line of cars waiting on the train at the time of the crash, according to a Trenton police report. A Trenton police officer approached the man's car and found the man alone with a laceration on his head and blood on his face and shirt. Grosse Ile Free Bridge Reopened After Nonfatal Accident

Trenton police blocked all bridge traffic after a car crash in which a car came to rest on a railing on the Grosse Ile free bridge Tuesday morning.

Trenton police reopened the Grosse Ile free bridge at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday after removing a vehicle that came to rest on a railing following a car crash on the bridge. Deputy Chief Steve Voss of the Trenton Police Department said though the scene is clear and the bridge is no longer blocked, an investigation into the cause of the crash continues. Voss said preliminary reports indicate that one of the drivers might have had some type of medical issue while crossing the bridge, which caused one of the two vehicles involved to cross the center line and strike the other car. The two drivers involved in the crash, a 68-year-old Grosse Ile woman and a 47-year-old Trenton man, are currently being treated at Oakwood Southshore Medical Center. …

No Charges for Lions Star Ndamukong Suh from Traffic Accident

Dearborn police said they were unable to determine fault in a traffic accident Thursday involving Detroit Lions star Ndamukong Suh and another man.

Dearborn police announced Friday that they will not file any charges in a traffic accident involving Detroit Lions star Ndamukong Suh and another man. According to a report from Dearborn police, Suh and Stephen Vines were involved in a collision on the exit ramp at the Southfield Freeway and Rotunda drive on Thursday morning at about 6:30 a.m. Dearborn police said that damage to both cars was minor; that there were no reported injuries; and that there was no evidence of alcohol or drugs being a factor in the collision. Toledo Blade: Trenton Man Dies in Car Crash on I-75

A Trenton man died in a car crash late Sunday night.

A Trenton man is dead after being bumped from behind by another motorist at about midnight Sunday while driving on I-75 according to a report by the Toldeo Blade. The man, Cole Bruno, 58, was driving northbound when another car, also driving northbound on the expressway, struck his pick up truck in the rear and the two cars then went off the left side of the expressway and overturned. Bruno's son, Cole Bruno III, 28, also of Trenton, a passenger in the truck, and Terrence Collins, 28, of Adrian, the driver of the car, were in fair condition in Oakwood Southshore Medical Center according to the Blade.
