News Brief: Trenton Pool to Close After Labor Day Weekend

The Trenton Aquatic Center is scheduled to close for the season after Labor Day.

The weather could not be better to enjoy one last weekend of crystal-clear water and a water slide that intimidates even us here at Trenton Patch. The Trenton Aquatic Center is set to close it's doors, to humans, for the season after Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5. The pool will be open from 12:15 to 4:45 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The actual final day to enjoy the pool is Sept. 10, but that day has gone to the dogs. The one day event called "Gone to the Dogs" allows owners and their dogs a chance to swim and play at the pool. Dog day begins at noon and ends at 3 p.m.

Touring Around Trenton: Beating the Heat at the Kennedy Aquatic Center

The residents of Trenton sought refuge from the sun at the Kennedy Aquatic Center.

It's day four of the Patch Summer Tour and the pounding heat brought me to a place where so many other people had come to seek refuge, the Kennedy Aquatic Center. With temperatures reaching almost 100 degrees, residents gathered under the hot sun to bathe in the cool waters of the pool at the Kennedy Recreation Center.
