Not one word from the useless race-baiters, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, and obama. All three areRead More useless, self promoting bottom feeders. Scum. I served on a jury for an assault involving biting that left a permanent scar on the victims hand.Read More It wasn't just a bite but a ripping. This 'bleeding heart liberal' voted for conviction and led the jury to see this as egregious and requiring that we do convict. If there was a death penalty maybe these killers wouldn't think it was so funny. In the days of DNARead More and video cameras everywhere I think it would be a lot easier to be certain that the killer is definitely guilty. As for the judge being "over the top"? NO WAY! This woman is a cold blooded murderer and has the audacity to laugh and roll her eyes at the grief of a family that has lost a loved one. She should have been shut up and ordered to leave the courtroom. In any case, I'm sure she'll learn to shut her mouth when she ends up in prison with other murderers.
michelle April 18, 2014 at 10:14 am
The judge may have been over the top. They are supposed to remain impartial and unemotional when itRead More comes to their jobs. It is strictly about following the law. Now...that doesn't mean I disagree with him. I'm not a judge though. I agree with what he said and when we know 100% someone did something, I'm ok with the death penalty too.

Ridiculous. People need to read the book I had to read for my MSW program at the University of IowaRead More School of Social Work, "The Rich Get Richer and the Poor Get Prison." Matt Taibbi wrote an update (as wealth inequity and white-collar crime continue unabated and unconsequented) called "The Divide," which says much the same thing, and I'm anxious to read it. Wall Street CEOs can still millions and billions of dollars and not one of them goes to prison. In fact, they're laughing all the way to the bank. Yet this poor schmuck gets a free 89-cent refill and it costs him hundreds of dollars. Maybe things will have to get worse before people wake up and smell the coffee!

I'm not living in the past,, I realize that slavery ended long ago,, but white America has NO IDEARead More what it is like to be a minority and have people look at you with fear and doubt because of your skin color or country of origin. Humans inherently distrust people that do not look like them. That's a fact. We all do it,, even myself,, and I hate that I can catch that twinge in my soul when I'm in a part of Detroit where I could easily be in danger a situation were to occur. We ALL need to realize that there are good and bad people that are our neighbors,, that sit next to us in church or pass on our sidewalks. The point is that racism and bigotry exist today,, we are ALL guilty of it. Those that choose to deny it and blame others for it are the real problem in the world today. Refusing to accept others as equals is the wrong thing to do regardless or race, gender, ethnicity of sexual orientation. What I try to do every day to improve our world is to simply accept people for who they are, expect them to live up to the words they speak and most importantly, Love All! Life is TOO short.
