City of Trenton Waste Water Treatment Plant

The City of Trenton Waste Water Treatment Plant has been operating since 1964. This treatment plant is capable of handing 6.5 million gallons of water per day and usually handles an average of about 4 million per day. The city also operates a sludge treatment plant with an aerated grit chamber, five primary settling tanks, four aeration basins, four final clarifiers, one chlorine contact chamber, two sludge thickening tanks, two sludge holding tanks and two belt filter presses. There are also four sewage lift stations.
