Trenton Elementary Schools Gear Up for Summer Reading Program

Research has shown that students often slip in reading achievement over the summer months, but continuing to read can reduce those losses, according to Trenton Public Schools.

Trenton elementary schools are cracking the doors back open for a short time this summer to offer a summer reading program for younger students.

The program provides easy access to books from media centers at and elementary schools. The media centers will be open on the following dates:

  • Anderson Elementary School will be open on July 17 and August 7 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Hedke Elementary School will be open on July 24 and August 14 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

All students currently enrolled in pre-kindergarten through fourth grade may participate in the program.

Students who read at least five books during the program will be recognized at the start of the school year with a celebration party.

All students must be accompanied by an adult.
