Exercise is the one area most of us dread. But to be healthy and kick start wellness, exercise is needed. Though some of us prefer to go to the dentist than to work out, working out should be fun. The days of just working on machines are gone, plus boring. Here's a list of suggestions of different exercises to do or look into trying:
- Zumba or Zumba Gold (50 years and older). If aerobics and Latin dancing had a love child, Zumba would be it. The calorie burn is approximately 600 per hour and it's fun. Zumba Gold is meant for those who are 50 years and better or those who need a slower pace
- Go on a bike ride with your kids
- Jumping rope. I know it's childish, but did you know you can burn 100 calories in 10 minutes?
- Walking around at a park
Since it is Wellness Week, why not try something to switch up your routine? There are plenty of local places that offer yoga and Zumba.
