Trenton Coach to be Inducted Into MHSCA Hall of Fame

After 42 years of coaching high school swimmers, Trenton High School swim coach James Lawrence was selected for induction into the Michigan High School Coaches' Association Hall of Fame

Lawrence began coaching at Trenton Public Schools about 30 years ago.


"Not only is he a great coach, he is also a great friend and a mentor to
the students he coaches," Gail Mcfarland, parent of two student athletes coached by Lawrence, said.

The induction ceremony is set for 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15 in the Terrace Room of the Bovee University Center on the campus of Central Michigan University, 1200 S Franklin St., in Mt Pleasant.

Lawrence will be inducted among 13 other coaches form all over the state.
