Girls Soccer Team Raises Big Cash for Breast Cancer

The Trenton High School girls soccer team raised money for the Susan G. Komen foundation and the Karmanos Cancer Institute.

The girls soccer team raised big bucks for the Susan G. Komen foundation and the Karmanos Cancer Institute last month.

The team presented Maggie Walsh, district coordinator for Karmanos, with an oversize check for $1,500 on May 4.

The fundraiser took place during a home game on April 18 against Carlson High School.

Players raised money by selling t-shirts, raffling off gift baskets donated by parents and a 50/50 raffle.

The field was decorated with over 50 posters of players' friends and family members affected by cancer.
