Zumba Class Tonight to Help Trenton Teacher Diagnosed With Cancer

There's a Zumba class tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Hedke Elementary to support a local teacher battling cancer for the fourth time.

Sometimes something as seemingly insignificant as a wig can make all the difference in a person's life.

A local group is continuing an effort to support a Trenton teacher who was recently diagnosed with cancer by holding a Zumba class from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Hedke Elementary gymnasium.

Kym Livernois, a teacher at Anderson Elementary and lifelong Trenton resident, was recently diagnosed with cancer for the fourth time.

A group of 17 women dubbed team LIVErnois has helped support her by holding fundraisers over the past three years.

Tuesday's fundraiser was designed to help purchase an expensive wig, which will be an exact replica of the hair Livernois has now. She will use the wig as she begins chemotherapy treatments.

There will also be a bake sale and bottled water for sale for $1.
