VIDEO: TEA Descends on Trenton High School

The Trenton Education Association gathered at Trenton High School dressed in red to show solidarity.

In a statewide day of action created by the Michigan Education Association members of the gathered at Tuesday morning to show solidarity and display signs in support of the TEA.

Mark Hoffman, district director of the TEA, helped coordinate the event.

"This is a statewide day of action," Hoffman said. "The TEA, in conjunction with its affiliates and friends across the state, demands that Lansing stop and reverse its unnecessary, deep, and hurtful cuts to public education, as well as the various other attacks on public schooling in general and teachers in particular."

There were over 20 teachers from district schools including many from at Trenton High School. The demonstration was scheduled to continue at between 7 and 8 a.m. and at Jesse L. Anderson and elementary schools from 3:10 to 3:40 p.m.
