Trenton Student Makes Channel 7's 'Brightest and Best' List
WXYZ-TV's 33-year tradition of honoring Metro Detroit's top high school students continues with Tara Kurtzhals from Trenton High School.
Channel 7, WXYZ recently honored the 256 recipients of this year's "Brightest and Best" award with a special luncheon at the station in Southfield. Among the winners for 2012, the 33rd year of program, was Tara Kurtzhals from Trenton High School.
The station teamed up with Gardner-White Furniture this year to present the Brightest and Best Essay Contest. One lucky student that submits a 500-word essay on how to move Michigan forward by retaining college graduates to work and live in Michigan will receive a $5,000 scholarship.
Kurtzhals is also ranked first among all Trenton High School graduating seniors.
