Trenton Public Schools Need Help

Trenton Public School District officials are holding public forums in March to seek help with the 2011-12 budget.

Officials for Trenton Public Schools are seeking the thoughts and ideas of parents and community members.

According to a district newsletter the district has been working on drafting the 2011-12 budget and is asking for residents' help.

The newsletter stated that state revenue for the district is down after federal revenue, in the form of stimulus funds and “Edu-jobs,” has been discontinued.

According to district officials a draft of the state of the budget has been developed and will be shared with the community at four public forums.

“At each forum, after the presentation of the Draft Budget and after audience questions have been answered, opportunities will be provided for those in attendance to offer suggestions on how best the challenges of the budget can be met.”

 The forums will be held:

  • March 7 at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  • March 8 at 3 p.m.
  • March 9 at 7 p.m.

The public, especially parents to students in the district, is encouraged to attend the forums.

All of the forums will be held in the Board of Education Building’s Conference Room, 2603 Charlton Road.
