Trenton Education Foundation Selects Grant Recipients

Classrooms across Trenton Public Schools stand to benefit from the Trenton Education Foundation.

Four classrooms in Trenton are set to receive a total of $4,388 for class projects from the Trenton Education Foundation (TEF).

Allocation of the grants was approved at Monday's meeting.

There were 17 applications submitted for grants and members of the TEF selection committee picked the top four to receive grants.

The grants are:

  • $1,500 for The Big Ten Challenge at Arthurs Middle School
  • $737.73 for Animals, Animals, Animals at Anderson Elementary School
  • $1,500 for a Student Response System in the Classroom at Trenton High School
  • $650 for a Raku Kiln at Trenton High School

Board President Dennis Bearden was on the selection committee and said he was glad to see so many applications and hopes to see even more next year.

"It's great to see all of the different ideas and people really grabbing hold to the fact that they can do some additional things for kids within our district by utilizing this grant," Bearden said.

The funds were made available by donations made at a recent fundraiser called the .
