  • Every morning, or anytime you cross his path, he has a smile and a pleasant greeting.
  • Whenever I have asked him to fix, install, correct or just a question; he responds at once to get it done (within hours or days).
  • Jim has fixed or installed numerous items around THS and science area with ease, and most of the time has to modify or create a way to get the object to work again.
  • Jim is always working on something. He has a "can-do" attitude and doesn't sit around waiting for someone to tell him what to do.
  • James brings a new sense of respect to the custodial profession. He's not the guy you ask for help just because he works at THS. You ask him for help because you respect his knowledge and judgement to get your problem or issues resolved quietly and done right the first time.

Individuals who receive the Golden Apple Award are selected for their dedication and outstanding contribution of time, talent and effort in support of the students, parents and staff at Trenton Public Schools.

Jennings said he hadn't heard of the award before he was told that he had been selected to receive it.

"The more I found out about it, the more humbling it was," Jennings said. "It's truly an honor to receive this."
