Arthurs Middle School Staff Present Schools to Watch in D.C.

Boyd W. Arthurs Middle School is one of just 300 U.S. schools to be honored with a Schools to Watch accreditation.

Having successfully completed the accredited, staff have begun the second step of teaching staff at other schools how to take the honor for themselves.

Ten Arthurs staff are presenting their action plan to dozens of other schools at the National Schools to Watch convention in Washington D.C. Friday to share their successes with hopes of helping other schools follow their trend of excellence.

At the National Schools to Watch convention Arthurs staff met with U.S. Rep. John Dingell to further share their success.

Schools to Watch is an initiative beginning in 1999 by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle Grades Reform in an effort to identify and honor schools nationally, "so all might learn how to achieve academic success through best practices for all young adolescents," according to an Arthurs release.
