Smiling guests filled the conference room at the Trenton Board of Education Building Monday night to see three Trenton Public School employees receive one of the district's highest honors.
Boyd W. Arthurs Middle School teacher Kellie Teska and special educational paraprofessional Karen Bibee and Trenton High School teacher Peter Youngblood were awarded the Golden Apple.
One-by-one the recipients were handed a large wooden plaque in honor of their success before board of education members and district officials.
The Golden Apple Award is handed out to school employees "in recognition of their outstanding contributions of their time, talent and efforts in support of the students parents and staff of the Trenton Public Schools," according to a district release.
Several of the recipients' family and friends were in the audience to cheer them on as they received their awards.
