VIDEO: Volunteers Get the Trenton Community Garden Ready to Grow

Several volunteers showed up to face the wind and dark clouds to help get the the community garden ready for planting.

The Trenton Bridge Cultural Center held a community garden cleanup Saturday, and several volunteers participated in the year's first of many days tending the garden.

The produce harvested from the garden gets donated to several organizations including senior citizens at the .

Master gardener Debbie Barnes helped organize the event and encouraged people to volunteer.

Volunteer Margaret Stedman said she wanted to remind readers of the Garden Walk and Quilt Show scheduled for June 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. sponsored by the Moon Glow Garden Club and the .

The walk begins at the cultural center and proceeds to six preselected houses with uncommon features like ponds, sculptures and garden art.
