Trenton Officials Pursue Court Order Despite Former Riverside Hospital Owner's Recent Comments

Trenton officials are following through with a court order to inspect the site of the Former Riverside Hospital despite the owner's comments last week.

Iqbal Nasir told The News-Herald he would allow Trenton officials access to the former hospital property to inspect the buildings.

City Administrator Jim Wagner said as of early Thursday afternoon he has not received written permission to inspect the building as requested.

"We made an offer to sign an agreement, which he did not return to me in the allotted time," Wagner said.

"I recommend to council they seek a court order," Wagner said. "We are in the process of getting the material to receive the court order to inspect the building."

Wagner said city officials need legal authorization to enter the building.

The court order would allow city officials to inspect the site and forward any findings to the Dangerous Building Board for a hearing.
