Rep. Pat Somerville to Hold Town Hall for Veterans

Rep. Pat Somerville plans to discuss legislation that could directly affect verterans, service members and their families.

Rep. Pat Somerville is set to host a town hall from 10 a.m. to noon on July 9 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7310, located at 8840 Macomb St. in Grosse Ile.

The town hall was set up to discuss issues affecting military veterans and their families, according to a Somerville release.

Jason Allen, senior deputy director for veterans affairs at the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, will join Somerville at the town hall.

"We owe our veterans and their families so much for the sacrifices they've made in defense of our nation and our way of life," Somerville stated in the release. "As an elected official, it's my job to serve those who have served us with such distinction, and it's an honor to get a chance to hear from them and help them."

Somerville plans to discuss legislation and other issues affecting veterans and those currently serving.
