Record Number of Candidates Running for Trenton City Council

The 2013 August Primary Election is set for Tuesday, Aug. 6.

Voters will have plenty of candidates to choose from in the 2013 August Primary Election in Trenton.

There are 10 candidates running for three open seats on Trenton City Council.

City Clerk Trish Gearhart said it's the highest number of candidates to run for city council in the past 20 years--and possibly longer.

The high number of candidates is a result of two long-time city council members, Tim Taylor and Terence Teifer, deciding not to run for re-election, according to Gearhart.

There is only one incumbent seeking re-election--Timber Baun-Crooks.

Here's a list of the candidates vying for three open seats with four-year terms on Trenton City Council:

  • Bob Baker
  • Timber Baun-Crooks
  • Dan Gillespie
  • Bob Keller
  • Tom Kinney
  • Terry Kuharsky
  • Pamela O'Bryan
  • Nelson Perugi
  • Steven Rzeppa
  • Eric Vargo
The primary election is set for Tuesday, Aug. 6, when ten candidates will be narrowed down to six.
