Political, Government & Public Safety Bloggers Wanted: Share Your Voice on Patch!

Do you work or volunteer with a local government organization or department? Have news you’d like to share (press releases, calendar items, photos) with your community? You’re in luck.

At Patch, we offer a free blogging platform for you to post locally-relevant information, news and events -- all while connecting with our established audience of readers close to home. You can even repurpose already-existing content from your own website, newsletter or blog.

Maybe you work with the area library and want to promote news of an upcoming author reading, are a politician who wants to connect with local constituents or have photos from a recent park district event you’d like to share.

Blogging is an easy, fun way to communicate, engage and inform. Best of all, your blog is a place to share everything and anything you'd like (so long as it plays by our Terms of Use).

Think of it as your little corner of the digital universe. You can dress it up however you'd like, and post whenever and however you want. And, because your content is important to us, every post is highlighted on the homepage, in our daily newsletter and promoted on social media.

To get started, click "Blogs" in the main navigation bar above. Then, in the upper left-hand corner, click the "Start your own Blog" icon. You'll then be asked three things: to name your blog, to write a short description of the blog and to upload a thumbnail to appear on the account. Once you hit the "Create your blog" button, you'll be on your way to making your first blog post. It's that simple!
