UPDATED: Kyle Stack Sworn in as Mayor of Trenton, Change Made in City Administration

Newly elected Mayor of Trenton Kyle Stack was sworn in Monday night.

Residents and city officials gathered at Monday night to witness the swearing in of newly elected Mayor Kyle Stack.

by over 1000 votes.

Newly elected City Clerk Trish Gearhart performed the swearing in ceremony for Stack, the new City Treasurer Michael McCullough, new City Councilperson Robert Howey, Councilperson MaryEllen McLeod and Councilperson William LeFevre.

Trenton Democratic House Rep. Andrew Kandrevas attended the ceremony and congratulated the newly elected officials.

Stack said, though she wasn't nervous, her first night as mayor was a "very eye-opening experience."

"I'm just thrilled that there was a lot of people out here," Stack said. "It's nice that the citizens came out for the swearing in and we'll be moving forward with the ideas we've got. We're looking for any suggestions and ideas to make Trenton a better place to live."

Attendees enjoyed snacks and refreshments in the lobby following the ceremony.

First Act as Mayor of Trenton

One of Stack's first official acts as mayor was to appoint a new city administrator, Jim Wagner, to replace former City Administrator Bob Cady.

Stack eliminated the director of the Department of Public Services position. The position was absorbed into the Department of Engineering. City Engineer William Hogan is now in charge of DPS.

By eliminating the position, Stack saved the city about $70,000 annually.

Stack also replaced former Trenton Police Chief William Lillienthal . The city saved money with this move, as well. Though official numbers were not available at press time.

In another money saving move, Stack brought in a business operations manager, Tim Beaker, for the Kennedy Recreation Center and Kenndy Aquatic Center and eliminated the assistant director of the Department of Parks and Recreation position.
