Trenton officials also voted in favor of changing the month in which residents need to renew their dog and cat licenses from July to January.

According to the new ordinance, residents must obtain or renew dog and cat licenses with the Office of the City Clerk at Trenton City Hall by January 1, each year.

Council members are set to vote to put the ordinance changes into effect at the next regularly scheduled Trenton City Council meeting at 8 p.m. March 18.
