Trenton-Grosse Ile Patch sent a questionnaire to all 10 candidates running for election or re-election to Trenton City Council in the coming primary.

The Trenton primary election is rapidly approaching and to help voters make sound, informed decisions, Trenton-Grosse Ile Patch created a questionnaire for candidates seeking election or re-election in 2013.

The primary election is set for Tuesday, Aug. 6.

Each of the 10 candidates seeking election or re-election for three city council seats received the same eight questions.

Lisa Kinney Perugi is my wife of 21 years, I also have 4 daughters and 2 grandchildren.

How long have you been a resident of Trenton?

I have lived in Trenton for 25 years as well as worked in Trenton (Riverside Hospital), Lisa has lived in Trenton for 36 years

What is your prior political experience?

I am currently serving on the Trenton Planning Commission Team. I also have maintained leadership roles in the Henry Ford Health System for 20+ years.

What is your prior professional experience?

During my health care career I have been a Lead CT Technologist and Systems Analyst. I am currently the Radiology Manager at Henry Ford Health Center - Brownstown. 

What made you decide to seek election/re-election?

I decided to run to bring an open minded and fresh perspective to the city council. I wanted to be involved in the process for improvement for the city, not just standing on the sidelines. 

What issues do you see affecting Trenton?

Maintaining high quality education and city services that we have grown accustomed to. We are falling behind on our downtown presence as compared to adjacent municipalities. 

What is your plan to address those issues?

Being open minded on having new businesses  return to the city. That renewal will help with the tax base and maintain/improve education and city services.
