Demolition of Haas Park Building on the Horizon

Trenton officials received four bids and plan to recommend the lowest bid be approved by city council members on Nov. 26.

Trenton officials plan to submit a bid to demolish the Haas Park Building at the next city council meeting set for 8 p.m. Nov. 26.

A bid opening was held on Nov. 13 and building department officials will recommend council members approve a bid from Lyle Trucking & Excavation Inc. of Flat Rock in the amount of $13,695.

Lyle Trucking was the lowest bid. The next lowest bid was over $1,100 more than the Lyle Trucking bid.

Building department officials said they have verified several references with positive comments received, according to Monday's agenda.

There was no word on when demolition of the building would begin, in the event a bid is approved.
