Blogging Live from the Trenton City Council Meeting

The regularly scheduled Trenton City Council meeting came to order at 8:01 p.m. following the Pledge of Allegiance.

A presentation explaining two Lifepacks donated by the Oakwood Healthcare System to the Trenton Fire Department was given by a representative of Oakwood named Scott Stockinger. Stockinger said the Lifepacks could save many lives.

8:12 p.m.

The Mayor's budget recommendation will be received and placed on file Monday for review and futher action. The budget will be presented for public hearing and approval by the City Council at the regularly scheduled meeting May 23, 2011.  A budget will need to be available for review and on display beginning May 2, 2011.

A public hearing was set to reveiw the budget on May 2, 2011 at 7:45 p.m at Trenton City Hall.

8:35 p.m.

A request was made by the Department of Public Works head Eric Witte to purchase a new Backhoe Loader, and the request was tabled until the upcoming budget discussions. Though Councilman Dan Gillespie said he was ready to move forward on the request, other council members did not wish to spend any money until they have a chance to look at the budget.

8:43 p.m.

Mayor Pro-Tem William LeFevre announced that Gorno Ford will be holding a fundraiser for the Trenton Marching Band on April 2, 2011. For each person who test drives a car April 2, Gorno Ford will donate money to the Trenton Marching Band.

8:50 p.m.

The meeting was adjorned at 9:01 p.m.
