The mother of a Wyandotte teen who died of a drug overdose in February 2012 has been charged in a five-count warrant, including four felonies by the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.

Michele Rydlicki was arraigned March 26 in 27th District Court on three charges of second-degree child abuse and delivery of a controlled substance, both felony offenses, and a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, The News-Herald reports.

Her 15-year-old daughter, Kerigan Brandon, was found unresponsive in the family home on Jan. 12, 2013, and died at Mott’s Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor on Feb. 13, 2013. The official cause of death was leukoencephalopathy due to a methadone overdose and anoxic brain injury.

Wyandotte Police Detective Jerome Yoscovits told the newspaper it’s believed Brandon suffered the brain injury when her brain was deprived of oxygen due to the presence of several different narcotics in her system.

Rydlicki remains in the Wayne County Jail after she was unable to post 10 percent of a $500,000 cash bond set by Magistrate Elizabeth DiSanto.

Rytdlicki’s preliminary examination was Thursday before 27th District Judge Randy Kalmbach, but it was adjourned pending a competency hearing.

POS .... all batteries have this logo, it stands for Positive. This mom was not a positive role model for her daughter and needs some help, some positive help in a govt run institution so she can be rehabilitated and returned to society as a viable participant.

Where on here does it say 'comment on here and voice your bias opinion'? Nowhere, I don't see it. Yes, she is the worst person that I know. She happens to be my aunt, I am not proud of that in any way. Even though I'm supposed to be loyal to my family, I don't care. She's trash. Just trash. I don't care what anyone has to say, or what you're opinion is. It only took so long because it was only me. I was the only one in the entire city of Wyandotte that gave a rip about this. Everyone was a coward and refused to speak up against her mother, because it's a taboo. No one would of thought that it was her. WRONG. It was all her.

I'm so sorry about your cousin, Savannah. It takes a lot of courage to stand alone. God bless you. May Kerrigan rest in peace.
