Woman Robbed at Gunpoint, Trenton Police Search for Suspect
The following information was supplied by the Trenton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
A 52-year-old Woodhaven woman reported she was robbed at gunpoint in her car at a traffic signal at West and Grange roads at about 8:30 p.m. June 27 in Trenton.
The woman told police she picked up a man walking on the shoulder of Allen Road. She said she was familiar with the man because she had met him before.
The woman asked where he wanted to go and the man asked her to drive to Ecorse. As the woman drove her car east on West Road the man pulled out a silver revolver and placed it against her head, according to a Trenton police report.
The man grabbed the woman's purse and took the wallet out of it, which contained $230, after telling her, "I'm gonna need your money," according to the same report.
The woman then stopped the car in the driveway of a nearby McDonald's and the man exited the vehicle.
The woman said up until the point the man pulled the gun out the conversation had been normal and she felt comfortable with him, according to the same report.
The woman made the report at the Woodhaven Police Department who then contacted the Trenton Police Department to take a statement.
Police are looking for a white male of medium height with a dark complexion, possibly of Italian or Middle Eastern decent, with dark hair. He was last seen wearing yellow pants, a black and red jacket and a black baseball cap.
