Trenton Woman Reports Pit Bull Attacked Her Puppy

The following information was supplied by the Trenton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

responded to a complaint from a 39-year-old woman who said her puppy was attacked by a pit bull at about 9:30 p.m. May 3 in the 3300 block of Middlefield.

The woman told police she was walking her 11-week-old German shepherd on the sidewalk when a pit bull attacked her puppy.

She said the pit bull came from the side of a nearby house and was not on a leash or chained up.

The pit bull bit the front back and shoulder area making the area tender to the touch, but did not break the skin, according to a report from the Trenton Police Department.

The woman said the dog’s owner, a 46-year-old woman, apologized shortly after the incident, and left before police arrived.

Police said they called the pit bull’s owner on her cell phone and left a message.

The woman who reported the dog bite said she planned to take her puppy to a veterinarian to have it checked out.

Pitt bulls are commonly considered dangerous dogs. Do you consider this an isolated incident?

People should be required to have special licenses and carry additional insurance to own pit bulls. They are dangerous animals and typically when they attack they cause much greater damage than any other breed often resulting in death.

Anybody want to bet that the pit bull belongs to the woman's gangsta-wanna-be thug son or one of his homies?

TO: Toomanyfools - To all the idiot mined people regarding Pit Bulls - Pit Bulls have been given a bad rap for years due to the way "drug addicts" TRAINED them. I know a few people that have pit bulls, and they are as sweet and loveable as any other breed. It is not their fault they are trained to attack. It's the FAULT of the narrow minded OWNERS of them. You have nothing to base your comment on TOOMANYFOOLS...you are just flapping your fingers on the keyboard thinking a woman's "gangsta" wanna be thug son or one of his homes. You sentence/comment makes you the FOOL!!!!!!!

Yes it is an isolated incident. Pitt bulls are given a bad rap due to the way "narrow mind" people think of them. They are like any other dog. They are either trained to be mean or sweet. Most drug dealers have them because they train them to attack. I know several people that own pitt bulls and they are as gentle as the poodle or any other dog. Again I repeat it is all on the training. The dogs have a massive bite they is why "drug dealers" have them. Come on people are you all that stupid when it comes to training family pets? It's like children, you try and raise them correct, but they cannot handle society. Why not put them down like they do pit bulls??
