Trenton Woman Tells Police Her Boyfriend's Ex-Girlfriend Damaged Her Car

The following information was supplied by the Trenton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 27-year-old Trenton woman reported to her car door handle was pulled off by her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend at about 8:30 p.m. April 2 in the 1900 block of Marian Drive.

The woman said she was in her car with her boyfriend the night before, dropping off a child her boyfriend has with his ex-girlfriend, when the ex-girlfriend began trying to open the woman’s driver’s side door.

She said the ex-girlfriend continued to pull on the handle as she began driving the car away.

The woman told police the ex-girlfriend was angry because she and her boyfriend were dropping the child off a half-hour late.

She said she did not know the door handle had broken off until the next day when the child told her, “My mommy has your door handle you know,” according to a Trenton police report.

Police said the ex-girlfriend denied having the door handle or breaking it off.

The woman said she would pursue charges against the ex-girlfriend if possible.

Too bad the incident is not correctly told. @ Michelle the environment that child is in is wonderful. The mother is a great person, the father is a complete psycho and the Trenton Police are very familiar with him!

Inspired- Even if that is the case, the child still has one or more crazy people taking care of him/her. I stand by my response...not a good situation. Keep the craziness away from the poor child. I'm divorced and my ex and I would never subject our child to any of our problems. Also...are you saying the mother did NOT pull the handle off the car and that police report is wrong? It doesn't really matter. What matters is the child is in the middle of the chaos. I feel bad for the child.

Michelle, do you know what a police report is? It is when an individual goes to the police and tell their story whether its fact or fiction. The police aren't saying i'm a witness to what this individual is saying, its their job to write it up and investigate. The girlfriend was not in the car, it was the man only. He almost ran over the ex-girlfriend. The ex-girlfriend did NOT pull the handle off the car. As a matter of fact, this poor young woman has been stalked, had her car keyed, hit, and many other things by this man. She has numerous police reports and she tried getting a PPO and was denied because they have a child in common. I'm happy for you that your ex-husband is civil but unfortunately not all people are this way. She does everything in her power to protect her daughter from this behavior but that man has no problem behaving inappropriately.

Nate Stemen- Why did you post this story BEFORE the police spoke to the ex? Did you need to post a quick story? This ISN'T news, this is you exploiting an incident that nobody other than the parties involved need to be concerned about. News is important events, life threatening emergencies, and real crime and dangers that the residents of Trenton actually need to be concerned about.

I wasn't sitting there bashing the mom. I was sitting there expressing how I felt sorry for the child stuck in the middle. You don't need to take it personally and attack me with regards to "do you know what a police report is". I do have a pretty good idea, although I've never had to personally be involved with one. My statement is with regards to how this poor kid is in the middle of the chaos. I didn't defend the new girlfriend or the Dad. If the mom is the one who has issues then shame on her. If it is the dad then shame on him. I was just merely stating that whoever is acting up needs to straighten up. If the situation is truly as you say then I do hope the police can help her. I know there are always two sides to every story (sometimes even more). I just wish people wouldn't do those things especially with children in the middle. I'm willing to guess neither side are perfect saints and angels (most of the time both sides play a part in the mess). I really hope they can work something out.
