Trenton Police Track Down Alleged Wallet Thief

tracked down and arrested an alleged wallet thief at about 7:50 p.m. Sept. 1 at on West Road and Newman.

Officers received a description of a man suspected of stealing a wallet from a resident of Gibraltar from the Gibraltar Police Department.

Gibraltar police said the suspect was a white male with a slim build who resides in Belleville and was last seen walking from West Jefferson Avenue and Slocum Street toward West Road and wearing blue jeans and a black shirt.

A Trenton officer began looking for the suspect and saw a man matching the description of the suspect walking into Happy's Pizza. The officer entered the business, identified the 24-year-old man and arrested him.

Officers later found the man had a fugitive warrant our of Pittsfield Township. Trenton police turned him over to the Gibraltar Police Department for processing.

At the time of the man's arrest, police found a syringe and a medical marijuana card that did not belong to him. The card belonged to the person who reported the wallet stolen.
