On Jan. 10 at 3:15 p.m., Trenton police reported an attempted auto theft at the student parking lot in Trenton High School.
The victim told police that at about 2:40 p.m. he discovered the ignition on his 1999 Ford F-150 had been “completely punched out of the steering column.”
Police said the only reason the vehicle wasn’t successfully stolen was because the vehicle needs a chipped key to operate.
There are no suspects or witnesses at the time. However, the school plans to check its video surveillance for suspects, the report said.
