Trenton Police Chief Promoted to Public Safety Director

The Trenton City Council passed an ordinance Monday that created the new position as part of a public safety reorganization.

On Monday, Trenton City Council passed an ordinance creating a new position, Director of Police and Fire Services as part of a reorganization of the public safety departments within the city.

Police Chief James Nardone has been tapped to serve as the new Director of Police and Fire Services, according to a city of Trenton press release.

Deputy Chief Steven Voss has been promoted to Police Chief, replacing Chief Nardone.

Fire Marshall Jeffrey Evans has been appointed Fire Chief by Mayor Kyle Stack, and will be sworn in on Nov. 8, replacing Chief Bruce Vick who announced his retirement in October.

“In these difficult times, we feel this reorganization will better serve the citizens of our community," said Trenton Mayor Kyle Stack in the press release.
