Trenton Police Arrest Man Carrying Saw

Trenton police arrested a man carrying a saw at about 12:30 p.m. Dec. 1 near King Road and West Jefferson Avenue.

The man told police he was using the saw to cut a piece of scrap metal into pieces, so he could sell it for money, according to a Trenton police report.

Police said the item the man was allegedly attempting to cut was a 25-foot metal light pole determined to belong to the Detroit Edison Company. The pole was cut into several pieces.

Police placed the man under arrest for attempted larceny and transported him to the Trenton Police Station.

Police said the light pole is valued at $1,000.
