Trenton Man Arrested With Nearly 3 Ounces of Marijuana

Trenton police arrested a man during a traffic stop after finding nearly three ounces of marijuana inside the man's car at about 7:20 p.m. Jan. 18 near Slocum and West Jefferson.

After pulling the man over for failing to use a turn indicator, the arresting officer said he could smell an odor of fresh marijuana coming from inside the car.

Police asked the man if there was marijuana inside the car and the man said, "he was in possession of about one or two ounces in the rear of his vehicle," according to a Trenton police report.

The man showed police where to locate the marijuana. Officers found about 2.7 ounces of marijuana packed inside a mason jar.

The man was arrested and transported to the Trenton Police Department where he was issued a misdemeanor citation for possession of marijuana and a civil infraction for failure to signal. He was released on personal bond.
