Trenton Business Owner Charged with Sex with Underage Girl

A Trenton business owner, 48, was arrested Saturday after a Trenton girl between the ages of 13 to 15 years old reported to police she had been raped by the man early that morning.
Rakeshkumar B. Patel, of Canton, was arraigned by an out-county prosecutor Saturday, Nov. 26, and charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a juvenile between the ages of 13 to 15, one count of criminal sexual conduct of force or coercion, and one count of selling/furnishing alcohol to a minor.
A preliminary examination of the evidence is set for 9 a.m. Dec. 6 at the 33rd District Court, 19000 Van Horn Road, in Woodhaven.

Police said the girl knew the man, and the crime took place at the man's local business.
The man's bond was set at 10 percent of $50,000. He posted $5,000 cash for his bond and was released from custody of the Trenton police the same day as his arrest.

Police did not reveal the name of the business for fear of potential destruction of the property.
