Teen Hiding in Vehicle Busted for Possession

The following information was supplied by the Trenton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Police arrested a minor Dec. 25 at about 4 a.m. for possession of marijuana after observing the teen attempt to hide in the driver’s seat when officers cruised by.

The report said the driver turned off the vehicle lights on his 1999 Dodge Stratus while parked in the 1600 block of Hawthorne. Asked why he was hiding, the teen said he knew his registration was expired.

Records showed that the vehicle’s registration expired in May, the report said.

While speaking with him, officers said they could smell marijuana. Although a search of the vehicle revealed no drugs, officers found a plastic bag containing 3.5 grams of marijuana in the suspect’s underwear.
